Services

Nutrition for Healing

I specialize in several conditions including; GI, oncology, failure to thrive (FTT) in pregnancy, unintentional weight loss/inability to maintain weight as well as the mechanics of each of these issues.

Sometimes its illness, ageing or a change in your overall health that alters your relationship with nutrition.

Food is personal. I can help you find balance, with the why, what and how.

Tell me your story.

Pre-Operative Nutrition

Work with me to enhance your nutrition prior to your procedure. Research shows that pre-operative nutrition improves the way you tolerate your surgery, can reduce your length of stay in the hospital, and enhance your recovery.

Being an active participant in your care and outcomes means more control rests with you.

Leverage science to be a great surgical candidate and heal with intention.

Cook and Consult

I have taught cooking classes for health-care professionals, students, patients, and the public for over 12 years, and delight in the discovery of delicious. My programs were recognized by the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative, and I create a fun, relaxed environment.

Whether it’s taste changes, difficulty with swallowing, or how to be a healthy vegan, my small sessions can be tailored to meet your personal needs.

Science informs the choices, and know-how leads the menu.

“We were so lucky to have had Lisa as part of my husband’s oncology care team.  Lisa is not only extremely knowledgeable and passionate about nutrition and healthy foods; she brought a level of caring and compassion to our interactions that is second to none.  She worked closely with us to provide ideas and options for calorie-dense and healthy foods that helped to sustain my husband’s weight as he underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatment.  She often helped brainstorm creative ways to ensure he was consuming the right amount of nutrients despite the challenges of his specific cancer type and its treatment.  I would highly recommend Lisa to anyone who is looking for a dietitian to help guide them in their understanding of nutrition and in choosing and preparing foods that nourish the body.”

“Lisa Wingrove, RD, CSO, is a talented and personable registered dietitian specializing in medical/oncology nutrition. She attentively listens, employs evidence and research to comprehend patients' individual needs, and offers personalized recommendations rather than rigid prescriptions. My husband, who underwent a surgical resection for cholangiocarcinoma, followed by chemo infusions and combined oral chemo and radiation, experienced both nausea and food-related anxiety. Lisa brought a breath of fresh air to our care team, providing invaluable ideas and suggestions to tackle challenges as they arose. Lisa possesses a deep understanding of science, medicine, cancer, and the emotional and physical complexities associated with decision-making in the context of treatment. My husband relies on her as much as any other member of our care team and places full trust in her”
