About Lisa

It all starts with food.

Healing, love, tradition, culture and the sensory experience it provides is one of life’s essential pleasures. We eat to survive, yet how we do that is intrinsic to who we are. Illness can change our relationship with food, and my goal is to support you to health. One day at a time.

I’m a registered dietitian; a nutrition and food expert who translates the science for your plate. I know that illness and disease can be intimidating; food doesn’t need to be. My approach is to listen and understand your personal needs, capacity and goals while growing confidence in your nutrition choices . Fearless/not Fearful.

I have the degree, specialization, and years working in an NCI cancer center. However, my personal experience of navigating nutrition in cancer has taught me the most by expanding my practical skills and first-hand knowledge of the challenges you face. I developed and led a cooking program for cancer patients and families, and have presented at conferences and events on this topic.

Through direct patient care and collaboration with my multi-disciplinary team, we improved patient outcomes with nutrition and supportive care changes at critical times in treatment. Developing our STRENGTH protocol for patients undergoing treatment was inspiring process improvement. Patients were more physically active with improved nutrition parameters, and were better surgical candidates. This published article shows the initiative and insight I can bring to your care.
